The $842m South Road Superway project is the biggest single investment in a South Australian road project and the state’s most complex engineering road project ever undertaken.
Lis-Con has been involved since the project’s commencement and was involved in the formwork reinforcement and pour work on the piers on the main alignment, the segmental erection on the main structure, the pre-cast yard for the pre-casting of all segments and the prefabrication yard for the fabrication of reinforcement cages for the main piers.
Each pier on the main alignment was designed with a radius on the end of both sides of the pier. This made construction highly complex and it demanded numerous construction innovations.
